Paramount Pictures released the newest trailer for their hugely anticipated, action-packed blockbuster Star Trek Beyond this morning. The trailer featured loads of action, our heroes in peril, and a flashback look at Chris Hemsworth from the first Star Trek. The trailer featured the song “Sledgehammer” by Rihanna, another interesting choice for the marketing team (their first trailer used Beastie Boys and received harsh criticism). However, in defense of the marketers, I’m still fairly unsure what this film is about, which is rare for a movie nowadays. Check out the trailer below and let us know what you think.
“Star Trek Beyond,” the highly anticipated next installment in the globally popular Star Trek franchise, created by Gene Roddenberry and reintroduced by J.J. Abrams in 2009, returns with director Justin Lin (“The Fast and the Furious” franchise) at the helm of this epic voyage of the U.S.S. Enterprise and her intrepid crew. In “Beyond,” the Enterprise crew explores the furthest reaches of uncharted space, where they encounter a mysterious new enemy who puts them and everything the Federation stands for to the test.
