Mattel Unveils New Line Of Toys For Wonder Woman Film

By: Karen Valenzuela (@VictoriaNoir89)

Seems like it was just a few days ago when we saw a new behind-the-scenes photo from the set of Wonder Woman, along with a sneak peek of what recurring Wonder villain Ares’ armor might look like in the film.

And now we have more Wonder news! Mattel has released images of a new line of Wonder Woman toys based on the live action film starring Gal Gadot and Chris Pine that will hit theaters this summer.

Included is a doll of Chris Pine as Steve Trevor, who takes Diana with him from Themyscira to our world. (What she does is not up to you, Steve Trevor doll.)

Diana’s mother Queen Hippolyta will also receive her own doll, sitting astride a horse with a mane as golden as her own hair. Look at the stunning details on Hippolyta’s head piece and on the sword she’s wielding.

There are also dolls of Princess Diana donning a few of the outfits we see her wearing in the two film trailers that have been released so far.

Like the Diana doll seen standing beside Steve Trevor in the image above, the Themysciran princess is wearing her traditional garb, but here she is wielding a crossbow. As Amazon warrior princesses do. (Sidenote: THE DETAIL IN THOSE BOOOOOTS!)

Diana also gets the full Wonder Woman treatment.

Here she is in her official superhero armor, holding her Lasso Of Truth.

In the film, Princess Diana goes against her mother’s wishes and breaks into Themyscira’s armory, taking the famed God-Killer sword (aka The Sword of Athena) for her journey to man’s world. (Good thing, since she’s about to dive straight into World War I.) Here, she holds the God-Killer sword and her shield.

She’s on a horse.

And finally, there will even be a doll of Diana Prince in the stunning 1910s-era blue ball gown she wears in the trailer WB released during their panel at San Diego Comic-Con 2016. Oh, and look! There’s the God-Killer sword we see her tuck into the back of her dress in the clip. (Don’t try that at prom, girls.)

The new line of Wonder toys will also include a replica of Wondy’s God-Killer sword (again, look at the details!!) and her crossbow with the Wonder Woman insignia engraved onto it. The crossbow also comes with 6 darts! That means you can shoot people with it! Cool!

This line of Wonder Woman dolls is set to hit shelves in the spring of this year. Prices vary from $15-30, depending on the toy.

Wonder Woman, directed by legendary Monster director Patty Jenkins, premieres June 2, 2017.

Who else will be collecting these? Show of hands!
