"A NEW YORK TIMES Bestseller! Hailed as a comics masterpiece, THE DARK KNIGHT RETURNS is Frank Miller's (300 and SIN CITY) reinvention of the legend of Batman. It remains an undisputed classic, one of the most influential stories ever told in comics, and is a book cited by the filmmakers as an inspiration for the most recent Batman movies. It is ten years after an aging Batman has retired and Gotham City has sunk deeper into decadence and lawlessness. Now, as his city needs him most, the Dark Knight returns in a blaze of glory. Joined by Carrie Kelly, a teenage female Robin, Batman takes to the streets to end the threat of the mutant gangs that have overrun the city. And after facing off against his two greatest enemies, the Joker and Two-Face, for the final time, Batman finds himself in mortal combat with his former ally, Superman, in a battle that only one of them will survive. This collection is hailed as a comics masterpiece and was responsible for the launch of the Christopher Nolan Batman movies. This volume collects BATMAN: THE DARK KNIGHT RETURNS #1-4." |

What do you do when your bucket list is full of check marks and you’ve got a lifetime ahead of you left to live? A new show coming to The CW will explore exactly that. Keep reading and get a glimpse of the upcoming dramedy Life Sentence!
Life Sentence got a pilot order in January 2017, and in May it became one of four new shows ordered to series (alongside Valor, Dynasty, and Black Lightning) by The CW. Created by Significant Mother’s Erin Cardillo and Richard Keith, Life Sentence looks to be headed for a mid-season premiere on the network. Executively produced by Cardillo, Keith, Oliver Goldstick, Bill Lawrence, Jeff Ingold, and pilot director Lee Toland Krieger, the show will move from its pilot filming location in Atlanta to Vancouver in July, to join the posse of other CW shows filmed in the Canadian location.
The hour-long episodes will star Pretty Little Liars’ Lucy Hale as Stella Abbott, a woman who was diagnosed with terminal cancer eight years earlier. She lived like each day was her last, crossing things off the life to-do list and even marrying Wes (Elliot Knight), a near stranger! But when she learns that her cancer has been cured, she has to deal with the aftermath of her “live like you’re dying” choices. With the threat of death no longer looming over her head, Stella learns of the many problems and secrets her father Paul (Dylan Walsh), mother Ida (Gillian Vigman), brother Aiden (Jayson Blair), sister Elizabeth (Brooke Lyons), and brother-in-law Darrius (Carlos PenaVega) had been hiding from her.
Take a look at the first trailer for Life Sentence here:
Is Life Sentence going on your 2017-2018 television season bucket list? What do you think of the new comedy drama CW series?
