Wondering which Marvel movies you need to refresh your memory on prior to heading to the theater to watch Infinity War next year? With all of the MCU characters piled into one marvelous film, it’s a lot to take in, and there are plenty of origin stories to recollect and potential movie tie-ins to take note of beforehand as well. In case you were considering this, you might want to read up on what Joe Russo, co-director of Infinity War, recently stated in an interview.
“Everything is setting up Infinity War,” Russo explained to cinemablend.com during San Diego Comic-Con. “Every narrative that you have seen in any of the Marvel movies leading up to this point comes to bear in some way because all of the characters and all of the franchises are coming together, bringing their themes and their tone and the things that motivate the characters are driving them through this story. It has been the hardest part of the job for us, [melding] all of that together. But thankfully, we got [Christopher] Markus and [Stephen] McFeely working with us. They are incredible collaborators. They wrote Winter Soldier for us, and Civil War. Now they’re writing both Avengers movies. I feel like we’ve got a great Vulcan mind meld between the two of them, and me and my brother.”
With McFeely, Markus, and the Russo brothers at the helm of this film, it’s bound to be a memorable film, at the very least. This crew has never let the MCU fans down as of yet, with action-packed scenes that are hard to be rivaled and deeply-driven themes throughout Winter Soldier and Civil War.
Is anyone now planning to have a Marvel movie marathon leading up to the theatrical release of Infinity War?

Baskin-Robbins knows everything – so should you! In case you missed it, Marvel recently released a synopsis for the 2018 film Ant-Man and the Wasp, in addition to a handful of other announcements involving a teaser trailer, production, and casting – even a new logo, which was tweeted by the movie’s director, Peyton Reed. As for the new (but not very explanatory, of course) synopsis, here it is:
“From the Marvel Cinematic Universe comes a new chapter featuring heroes with the astonishing ability to shrink: Ant-Man and the Wasp. In the aftermath of Captain America: Civil War, Scott Lang (Paul Rudd) grapples with the consequences of his choices as both a superhero and a father. As he struggles to rebalance his home life with his responsibilities as Ant-Man, he’s confronted by Hope van Dyne (Evangeline Lilly) and Dr. Hank Pym (Michael Douglas) with an urgent new mission. Scott must once again put on the suit and learn to fight alongside The Wasp as the team works together to uncover secrets from their past.”
This isn’t the first movie depicting a superhero attempting to re-regulate their lifestyle after a major battle or when they become the titular hero, of course. Iron Man 2 & 3 come to mind; even – in part – Captain America: The Winter Soldier. This will be, however, the first superhero in the MCU who has to consider their child in the mix of things, and is otherwise an ordinary guy, not a billionaire or someone who got frozen in an iceberg. How do you think the events of Civil War will affect Rudd and his already precarious relationship with his daughter and her mother?
The movie also began production in Atlanta, Georgia earlier this month. Michael Douglas, Paul Rudd, Michael Pena, Tip “T.I.” Harris, David Dastmalchian, Judy Greer, Abby Ryder Forston, and Evangeline Lilly will be reprising their roles; Laurence Fishburne, Hannah John-Kamen, Randall Park, Walton Goggins, Bobby Cannavale, and Michelle Pfeiffer will be joining the cast to expand the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
