It is the wish of many a Harry Potter fan to get to live in the immersive world JK Rowling created that follows the life of the famous wizard. Through movies, spin-off movies, books, spin-off books, websites, and more, The Boy Who Lived will always live not only in pop culture, but also in the hearts of every one of his fans.
To further saturate the Harry Potter fan landscape, publisher Bloomsbury has announced an upcoming, illustrated edition of Rowling’s The Tales of Beedle the Bard as first introduced in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. Award-winning artist Chris Riddell will illustrate the book.
The Tales of Beedle the Bard features five stories (“The Wizard and the Hopping Pot,” “The Fountain of Fair Fortune,” “The Warlock’s Hairy Heart,” “Babbitty Rabbitty and her Cackling Stump,” and most notably “The Tale of the Three Brothers”) and is left to Hermione by Dumbledore – his footnotes and all – to help our hero trio discover what the Deathly Hallows are in the seventh and final book in the Harry Potter saga.
This is not the first Harry Potter story to be illustrated. It is but the latest entry in the series, with other titles including Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone: The Illustrated Edition, Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets: The Illustrated Edition, the recently-released Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban: The Illustrated Edition, and the recently-announced Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them Illustrated Edition.
The Tales of Beedle the Bard will be released October 2, 2018. It is being published in aid of Lumos, Rowling’s international children’s charity, which works to improve the lives of disadvantaged children around the world.
