Halo 5 is Free for a Limited Time to Celebrate Firefight Release

343i celebrated the release of the long-awaited Firefight mode in Halo: 5 Guardians by making the game free to download and play for all Xbox Live Gold members until July 5, at which point it will return to its normal price. The Xbox One game sent out a mammoth 7GB update yesterday, adding in new maps, requisitions, power-ups, weapons, vehicles, armor, helmets and assassinations to the latest installment in the coveted sci-fi franchise.

The three new Firefight maps included in this update are Attack on SanctumProspect and Molten. Also included is Tidal, a new Forge Canvas map for players to create their own battlegrounds. A scoring system for the campaign has been added as well. There are Rare, Ultra Rare and Legendary editions of the Halo 2 Beam Rifle that are available in requisition packs. Other weapons available for unlock include the Scale of Soirapt and the Sorrow of Teash. New vehicles include the brand-new Wasp, a Temple Banshee, Temple Ghost, and Temple Wraith. Lastly, there is Grunt Goblin, a new grunt-mech boss. Have a look at the new features below.
