Kid’s Corner: Star Wars Builders

So it’s May 4th and you are at home binge watching all 8 Star Wars movies with your kids, sounds like the perfect day, but as anyone knows, 18 ish hours is a long time to get the kids to sit still. Star Wars: Builders is the perfect craft for any Star Wars fan with kids. These cardboard creations are easy to put together and look great on the shelf once you’re done with the building phase. (Although personally, I’d invest in some string and hang the X-Wing, Tie Fighter, and Millenium Falcon from the ceiling.) In addition to the Millenium Falcon and Starfighter sets, Star Wars: Builders has an impressive Droids set that allows you to build R2-D2, BB-8, and C-3PO. Each set also contains a kid’s book with facts and quizzes about the various ships and droids of the Star Wars Universe. While the thick cardboard allows for easy creation and are sturdy enough for modeling, I don’t recommend using them for actual play, as they will come apart with repeated use. While not meant for play, as a build tool, these are excellent for young builders who aren’t quite ready for snap fit models or complex Lego sets. Star Wars: Builders sets can be found at most big box and craft stores for around $20 a set. May The Force Be With You!
