by Veronica “Roni” Sepulveda (@vRONIs)

Nerds! We have a lot going on this week in the world of news with a few follow-ups to previously reported possibilities. Hmmm…

10. Tarzan

IMAX offered an exclusive sneak peek at Alexander Skarsgard as Tarzan! I have to say, I’m quite excited about this. It looks quite epic and the cast is exceptional. What do you think, nerds?

9. Black Panther

Michael B. Jordan was rumored to be part of the Black Panther cast as a potential villain for a few weeks now. He officially confirmed being excited to be part of the team this week. “I’m super excited, especially to put a different spin on it. I’m looking forward to working with Ryan [Coogler] once again. It’s gonna be a good time.” See more here. All I know, is we need more Black Panther. Come on, you know you do too!

8. Pacific Rim 2

Speaking of delicious and talented actors… Remember: equal objectification here 😉 John Boyega will be joining Pacific Rim 2 as Idris Elba‘s late character’s son! Nothing like some more Guillermo monster movies and kick ass robots! The movie is slated to hit theaters in 2017. See more here.

7. Supergirl

Casting is underway for Superman to join Supergirl at her new CW home. This, of course, spawned calls for Tom Welling to reprise. Who knows if that would happen, but it’ll be fun to see the dynamic between the two characters. Who is excited to see Supergirl join the CW? It’ll be great to see some crossovers and see some more Barry/Kara nerd time. Do you think Superman would be a good addition, or will he be a distraction? See more here.

6. Captain Marvel

From one badass lady to another. Brie Larson was rumored to be in talks to play Carol Danvers. She is a fantastic choice and it seems Chris Evans agrees. Yay for exceptional actresses and double yay for superhero ladies!

5. The Grandmaster

In an interview with Empire, Jeff Goldblum gave some insight into his Thor: Ragnarok character. “He’s a hedonist, a pleasure-seeker, an enjoyer of life and tastes and smells. I thought, ‘I can do that, I’ll bet!’ I’m working on my part every day. I’m a sponge, researching. [Taika Waititi] is encouraging me to improvise and make it my own, and that’s what I’m trying to do. I hope he doesn’t throw me out on the first day!” See more here.
