After X-Files took the television world by storm in 1993, novels began to come out, based on episodes of the show. There is an X-Files juvenile book series as well as a young adult book series based on the show. But the nerdiness doesn’t stop there. The children, for goodness sake! Don’t forget the children!
Entertainment Weekly announced this week that Quirk Books will be publishing a children’s book about young Dana Scully and Fox Mulder for the 4-8 year old range. It seems you can never start too young when it comes to initiation into the cult of geek. Illustrated by Kim Smith, the book titled “The X-Files: Earth Children Are Weird” will take children on a 40 page journey through a pop-up book.
While you sit back and read an X-Files comic by Topps Comics, the children will be able to experience the world of X-Files for the first time themselves! They’ll get to read about young pals Mulder and Scully going on a backyard camping sleepover trip. Scully and Mulder hear strange sounds and inexplicable lights and shadows outside. Is there a rational explanation, or might there be alien life exploring just beyond the confines of the tent?
The hardcover pop-up book is scheduled to be released August 29, 2017 and you can pre-order the book now through various online vendors. While you wait, order an X-Files coloring book from IDW Publishing for the kids in your life (or yourself) and keep your eyes on the sky.
