The latest Marvel Television addition begins tonight on FX. Legion follows the life of David Haller, played by Downton Abbey alum Dan Stevens. David has spent this life being told he’s schizophrenic, but could it be something more? Based on the Marvel Comics written by Chris Claremont and Bill Sienkiewicz comes a brand new show exploring the world of mutant genes and mental illness.
David Haller has difficulty differentiating between what is real and what is imagined, and has found himself in another psychiatric hospital. He becomes content with the routine of the institution. That’s until he meets Syd. Played by Rachel Keller, Syd is a new patient that immediately catches David’s attention. After experiencing something startling with Syd, David realizes that he may not be crazy. Breaking out of the hospital, crashing with his sister, and finding a team to open his eyes to new possibilities is just the start of David’s story.
Legion will not have a connection to the existing X-Men movie universe, but in the hands of executive producers Noah Hawley, Bryan Singer and John Cameron (just to name a few) we can expect great things. Also starring Aubrey Plaza, Jean Smart, and Mackenzie Grey. Watch Legion on FX Wednesdays at 10pm. Take a look at some promos below.
