MindGamers Event Will Scientifically Connect Cinemagoers Live Across the Country

By: Haylee Fisher (@haylee_fisher)

It’s a common sci-fi movie trope to connect two or more peoples’ minds together. In fact, that’s the premise of the upcoming MindGamers, but some in the movie-going audience will get to do more than just watch the film.

MindGamers follows a group of brilliant young students who create a wireless neural network with the potential to link every mind on earth via a quantum computer. Capable of transferring motor-skills from one brain to another, they have brought into existence the first shareware for human motor-skills. They freely spread this technology, believing it to be a first step towards a new equality and intellectual freedom. But they soon discover that they themselves are part of a much greater and more sinister experiment, as dark forces emerge that threaten to subvert this network into a means of mass-control.

But during the live event on March 28, the line between science fiction and reality will be blurred when 1,000 people in the audience will get to participate in a special neuroscientific experiment. They will wear special cognition headbands that will allow scientists to capture the data of all participants live through cloud technology, which will be so much more than a gimmick: the experiment’s goal is to drive, expand, and improve human cognition research for years to come.

The event will open with introductory talks from Tim Mullen and Mikey Siegel, both leaders in the fields of technology, neuroscience, and the collective consciousness. The film will then follow, and conclude with a live Q&A and revealing of the first image of a mass-connected mind.

Tickets go on sale beginning February 3. For more information, check out MindGamers’ Fathom Events page.
