Suicide Squad Soundtrack List Revealed

By: Matthew Goodman (@CreedsDelight)

The official song listing for the soundtrack to the Suicide Squad movie was revealed yesterday, and it looks to be giving Guardians of the Galaxy a run for its money. Songs by Rick Ross, Eminem and twenty one pilots are featured on the soundtrack, as well as a cover of Queen’s Bohemian Rhapsody by Panic! At The Disco. This movie appears to be taking a pop-punk approach to its soundtrack in comparison to the 80’s pop approach taken in Guardians of the Galaxy. The reason I draw contrasts between the two is because they are both the outsider groups in their respective cinematic universes.

Suicide Squad’s marketing campaign has been centered around its unique choices in music and how it blends with the characters. The Comic-Con trailer had the sobering “I Started a Joke” by ConfidentialMX, the first official trailer had Queen’s version of “Bohemian Rhapsody” and the latest trailer had “You Don’t Own Me” by Grace and “Ballroom Blitz” by Sweet. These trailers have a whopping 150,000,000+ views combined on YouTube, signaling that fan interest for this film is off the charts.

Take a look at the track listing below.

It feels good to be bad… Assemble a team of the world’s most dangerous, incarcerated Super Villains, provide them with the most powerful arsenal at the government’s disposal, and send them off on a mission to defeat an enigmatic, insuperable entity. U.S. intelligence officer Amanda Waller has determined only a secretly convened group of disparate, despicable individuals with next to nothing to lose will do.  However, once they realize they weren’t picked to succeed but chosen for their patent culpability when they inevitably fail, will the Suicide Squad resolve to die trying, or decide it’s every man for himself?
